The CEO of Access Holdings, Dr Herbert Wigwe has died in a helicopter crash in California, the United States.
According to reports, his wife and son were also in the helicopter when it crashed on Friday, February 9, 2024.
Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the former group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group), was also among the incident victims.
Six passengers were onboard, however, none of them made it alive.
Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe was born 15 August 1966 in Ibadan.
He was until his demise the CEO of Access Holdings Plc, traded as Access Corporation.
He was the Group Managing Director/CEO of Access Bank plc, one of Nigeria’s top five banking institutions, after succeeding his business partner, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede in January 2014 till April 2022.
