Farida Musa Kalla ,also known as FMK has been announced as Business Personality of the year 2024,by the organizers of Nigeria Service Awards.
Farida Musa Kalla (FMK) is an acclaimed and trailblazing textile entrepreneur, renowned for her groundbreaking work in the African fabric industry. As the founder of FMK, a leading brand specializing in premium Ankara fabrics, Swiss laces, and veils, Farida has built a thriving business that employs over 80 staff members and operates four branches across the region.
She is celebrated as the first woman in Northern Nigeria to break cultural and societal barriers by becoming a successful business owner in the historically male-dominated Kwari Market, a place where women were traditionally seen only as buyers. Farida now run multiple shops and oversees a multi-million naira enterprise within this market, setting a powerful example for women across the region.
Beyond her business success, Farida is a passionate advocate for female entrepreneurship through her initiative, Women Innovators Network (WIN). WIN empowers and inspires women in Northern Nigeria and across the country to start their own businesses, challenging norms and driving economic growth. Her contributions have earned her numerous Awards of Excellence from various commissions and organizations, recognizing her leadership, impact on business, and promotion of religious and cultural values.
Most recently, Farida embarked on an exciting new project, Fabric Diaries, FMK Edition—a video series that offers a glimpse into her dynamic daily life and business operations, showcasing her journey as a successful entrepreneur, leader, and mentor.
She emerged first place following her online nomination and voting by members of the general public as monitored and confirmed by the Nigeria Service Awards panel of jury which commenced on the 14th through 24th September, 2024.
Consequently, this prestigious Award will be presented by COA Media Group; organizers of the Nigeria Service Awards at a ceremony slated for 9th November, 2024, at the Exclusive Serene Hotel, Wuye, Abuja.
