CHAN QUARTER-FINAL: EAGLES TO BATTLE ANGOLA

The home-based Super Eagles will play Angola on Sunday in one of the quarter-final contest of the 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) following a 3-1 victory over Equatorial Guinea in a Group C clash at the Stade Adrar, Morocco on Tuesday evening.
Anthony Okpotu, Dayo Ojo and substitute Rabiu Ali overturned Equatorial Guinea’s first-half advantage in what was an exciting encounter in Agadir.
The Home-based Eagles created a basketful of chances in each of their first two matches against Rwanda and Libya, but had only Sunday Faleye’s 79th minute winner against Libya to show for their marksmanship in the tournament before kick-off at the Stade d’Agadir.
The string of misses continued against the neighbours to the south as Faleye missed from inside the box after good work from Emeka Ogbuh on the right. Osas Okoro’s shot from a 23-yard free kick in the 25th minute was simply wayward.
Other quarter-final fixtures have hosts Morocco taking on Namibia in Casablanca on Saturday afternoon, while Zambia play Sudan in Marrakech on Saturday evening
