CHRISTMAS: Senate Spokesman tasks Nigerians on peaceful co-existence

The Nigeria Senate Spokesman ,who is also Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Dr Ajibola Basiru has felicitated with Christians on this occasion of the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

 

In a congratulatory message to the adherents of the Christian faith and the people of Osun Central in general,Dr Basiru observed that people have a lot to learn from the birth and death of Jesus Christ.

 

Dr Basiru said;”from a simple birth in a manger through endurance in the face of persecution, Jesus was able to build an army of followers,changed lives and restored hope to the hopeless. The lawmaker remarked that with a solid faith in God,prayers and perseverance, Nigeria will overcome its challenges as the leadership is not taking things lying down.

“I want to felicitate Christians and of course the entire constituents of Osun Central on the occasion of this year’s Christmas celebrations, marking the birth of the Lord, Jesus Christ. We have a full course to thank God for sparing our lives and for seeing us scaling social and economic hurdles year 2021 placed before us.”

“We have to do things in moderation and with caution as we transit from one place to another to join family members, friends and relatives to celebrate the birth of the Messiah. Covid-19 is still ravaging the World,let’s still stick to its protocols by using nose masks,avoiding crowded places and going for vaccination.”

 

He prodded Nigerians to eschew violence,embrace religious harmony,and see each other as one to ensure peaceful co existence for further unity of the nation.

 

Senator Ajibola Basiru enjoined people to use this season to pray for peace and prosperity in Nigeria so that the year 2022 will be a fulfilling one for everybody.
