COVID-19: NYSC subjects high profile personalities, others to screening

As part of recommended measures to contain the COVID-19, high profile personalities on visit to NYSC Orientation Camps were being subjected to secreening along with Corps Members and other visitors before entry.

This was in addition to the provision of handwash points with germ-killing liquid soaps and sanitizers at strategic points in all the Orientation Camps.

Earlier yesterday, the Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the 2020 Batch ‘A’ Corps members and also inaugurated the newly constructed Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu in Awka South Local Government Area of the State.

The Governor went through the screening procedures as did the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare; NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim; Justice B. A. Agbata, who represented the Anambra State Chief Judge; and the State NDLEA Commander, Mr. Misbahu Idris amongst others.

 

Apart from screening all the 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Corps Members in the 37 NYSC Orientation Camps in the country, sensitisation leaflets on Lassa fever and Coronavirus have been distributed to them so as to arm them with the requisite information on the viruses and how to prevent infection.
