If you want to seek the pleasure of the creator, you must take care of his creatures – Abdurasaq Olayode

By Maryam Kehinde Abdulazeez

Dua is the weapon of the believer. It is an opportunity which no one can ever take away from us. Allah the Exalted is always there to answer us whenever we call on Him, and that’s why one of His names is al Mujeeb (the One who responds).

The question is; What did you ask from Allah during Ramadhan? Alot has been asked during Ramadhan and it is everyone’s perception to see the results of what they have sought for.

In the program Talk Islam on Jordan 93.9 FM, the presenter Abdurasaq Olayode aka Philosopher King talked on the topic:-DUA AND IT’S ACCEPTABILITY AFTER RAMADHAN and he carried his listeners along on what to do and what not to do while awaiting the solvent of the Dua during Ramadan.

He practically said ” if you want to seek the pleasure of the Creator, you must take care of His creatures” and the only thing/way that is certain and which one must always do is to continue the good deeds done during Ramadhan. Buttressing his discussion with a reference Ayah in Qur’an 7 ayah 56;

“And do not do mischief on the earth, after it has been set in order, and invoke Him with fear and hope; Surely, Allah’s Mercy is (ever) near unto the good_doers. (Al-A’raf 7:56)”

Driving deep into the discussion, Abdurasaq said “most people live life by default”. They really don’t know what they ask from Allah during Ramadhan and if they really do ask, they don’t know how to monitor it to know if it has been accepted or answered.

Ramadhan he said had come to put believers into 30 days training to purify the souls and putting them on the right track by calling Allah with utmost humility and expectations. Allah answers your dua in the way He knows best and at the time when He knows best.

“Learn to observe the signs then your supplication is about to be answered so you don’t by your hands divert it elsewhere. He said,” as you await the acceptability of your Dua said during Ramadan, you also have your part to play,i.e if a single asked for a good spouse, he or she also needs to demonstrate a good attitude to attract a good spouse, those who ask for money needs to have a job, improve themselves inside current career paths and those who also asked for good health needs to see the doctor, eat good food and engage in exercise etc. Do your part and leave the rest to Allah– that is the real meaning of a realistic Dua.”

In conclusion, He points out other opportunities Muslims still have to seek for Allah’s help aside the night of Qadr that just passed, as during Tahjud, during prostration, when it’s raining, between adhan and iqamat, after obligatory Dua, while traveling and when sick, in pain or depression, most especially during this period of covid-19 among others.
