Etsu Nupe turbans Saidu Mohammed as 27th Etsu-Tasha

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Yahaya Abubakar, has turbaned Saidu Mohammed as the 27th Tasha of the Etsu-Tasha community of the Edati Local Government Area.

The colorful turbaning ceremony was held at Wadata Palace of the Etsu Nupe on Tuesday in Bida.

 

DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that Malam Mohammed became the 27th ruler of the community in order of ascension following the approval of the Emirate council.

 

The event was well attended by eminent members of the Bida Emirates council, community leaders, and family members.

 

It is assumed that the new community head will bring a wealth of experience spanning over three decades in civil and community service to his new role.

 

Mohammed served as a project manager at the Niger State Ministry of Health, where he served until his retirement from service in 2002.

The new Tasha Chief also chaired the Niger State Task Force on Water and Environmental Sanitation during the administration of the late Governor Musa Inuwa in the short-lived Third Republic.

 

The traditional ruler is a graduate of the University of Ilorin, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree.

 

Prior to that, he had attended the school of Hygiene in Kano. The new traditional is also an alumnus of the famous Bida Teachers College, BTC.

 

Speaking shortly after his coronation, Malam Saidu expressed gratitude to the almighty for making the event a success.

 

He also lauded the effort and support received from the entire people of Etsu-Tasha community and commended them for ensuring that the event was successful.
