The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has urged personnel to sustain the productivity momentum from 2024 to enhance the Corps’ service delivery in 2025. He emphasized that staff capacity development, welfare, and regular promotion exercises will remain central to his administration’s agenda.
Speaking at the maiden 2025 Corps Marshal’s Parade held at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja on Monday, February 3, 2025, Shehu Mohammed commended the sacrifices and dedication of management staff, commanding officers, and other personnel. He particularly lauded their efforts in ensuring a safer road environment during the end-of-year special patrols.
He expressed condolences to families of officers who lost their lives in active service and encouraged personnel to prioritize their health through regular medical checkups and fitness exercises.
On enhancing productivity, the Corps Marshal stressed the need for excellence and discipline among staff. He warned against indolence, rumor-mongering, and any acts that could tarnish the image of the Corps, assured that outstanding performance would be duly rewarded.
Shehu Mohammed also acknowledged the upcoming 37th FRSC anniversary on February 18, 2025, celebrating the organization’s resilience and commitment to road safety. He reaffirmed his leadership’s dedication to maintaining high standards and called on staff to contribute to making the FRSC a globally recognized high-performance organization.
As part of staff welfare initiatives, he announced plans to strengthen the FRSC Staff Cooperative and Housing Scheme, collaborate with reputable developers for affordable housing, and establish an FRSC-managed Healthcare Management Organization (HMO) to improve healthcare services for personnel and their families.
In advancing technological innovations, he urged staff to adopt the FRSC Mobile App launched last year for better understanding of the Corps’ digital transformation. He also revealed that the ongoing digitization policy would soon replace paper-based administrative and operational processes with computers in all offices.
Addressing the issue of promotions, Shehu Mohammed disclosed that the 2025 promotion exercises would commence soon, beginning with Deputy Corps Marshals (DCMs) to ensure timely career progression.
Regarding the amendment of the FRSC Establishment Act 2007, he highlighted last year’s public hearing at the House of Representatives and called on personnel to prepare for greater responsibilities that may arise from the expected changes.
The Corps Marshal concluded by encouraging staff to contribute ideas for improving the Corps, assuring that achievements and efforts would be duly recognized. The event ended with a parade inspection and a salute to the Corps Marshal.
Staff members who spoke after the event expressed optimism that 2025 would be a more productive and rewarding year for the FRSC.
