Gov Sani Bello pledges support for Women Entrepreneurs ….. approves 5 hectares of land for NAWE

Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello has pledged his continuing support for women entrepreneurs in the country to boost economic activities and become self-reliant.

 

The Governor made this known when he received the Nigerian Association of Women Entrepreneurs (NAWE) at the Government House, Minna, the state capital.

 

Governor Sani Bello who noted that “women are the most vulnerable”, emphasized that it has become necessary to empower them.

 

According to him, “we must make some sacrifices to support women entrepreneurs as the only way to address unemployment in Nigeria”.

 

He commended the association for making plans to train 500 women in the state in vocational skills.

 

Responding to the land request made by the Association, the Governor directed his Chief of staff and Commissioner for Lands and Housing to ensure they provide 5 hectares of land for the Association at the Industrial park.

 

The leader of the team and NAWE National President, Barrister.Vera Ndanusa, said the aim of their visit was to appreciate the Governor for his immense support for women empowerment in the state and to also solicit support for the association by providng a land and sponsoring of trainings and retreats in order to promote economic activities of women.

 

She said that NAWE has offered to train 500 women in Niger state with the provision of a start-up capital after the training .

 

Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of their products to the Governor.
