Igboho: Igbimo Yoruba condemns Falana’s position on Fulani rights

The leadership of the apex coalition body for all Yoruba Groups in the South West Region of Nigeria and globally under the auspices of the Igbimo Apapo Yoruba Lagbaye: Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide and Yoruba Council of Women Worldwide has reacted to human rights lawyer,Femi Falana’s position against Yoruba Activist,Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho’s necessity and aggressive quest to agitate for a succinct peace, security of lives and properties for the Yoruba people and other inhabitants living within Yoruba Land.
The group in a statement jointly signed by its President and the Secretary General,Aare Oladotun Hassan and ,Akowe Oodua Siyanbade Adekanbi, respectively said :
“Today it is crystal clear to the blind on the current position we find ourselves in Nigeria, whereas Government has failed in its statutory duties to provide adequate security for her people, hence self defence becomes inevitable solution. Which is a trite principle of law to protect your fundamental rights to life.
“We are disappointed to see Mr Falana’s clandestine call for fundamental rights legal attrition against Oloye Sunday Igboho as most unfortunate, demeaning and treacherous, for someone of the legal calibre of Mr Falana to support the Fulani herdsmen bandits wrecking havoc ranging from kidnappings, rape, mass destructions, killings and invasions of farmlands and communities at will, at the detriment of the victim’s fundamental human rights.
“Indeed Mr. Falana failed to sue the killer herdsmen or the government for omission, mosty whose identity are deceitfully more visible as Fulanis rather than real Nigerians.
‘While those that invades farmlands most times are Fulani foreign fighters from Mali, Sudan, Niger, Libya to mention a few, hence the Nigeria Immigration Service needs to wake up to her responsibility urgently.
“We are aghast to note, that the call at this period from Mr. Falana and silence or opinions from some other renowned and respected Yoruba leaders as vexatiously seen to be political schemes for government or Fulani herdsmen patronage and selfish interests at the detriment of peace, unity and progress.
“We are not surprised to see the crafty statements from some of the so called enemies of the Yoruba people and Nigerians at large.
“We Yorubas are the most accommodating ethnic race in Nigeria, we love everyone including hausa, fulani, igbos, efiks, ijaws to mention a few, and they all can attest to their peaceful habitation and successes.
“We reiterate our supports for Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho and other like minds like Aare Onakankafo Gani Adams, that for any legal action against him or others, we are prepared to raise 100 SAN and senior lawyers of erudite qualities to defend the Yoruba interests at the court.
“We hereby warn all Hausa Fulanis and other tribes to maintain absolute decorum, law and order, while we reiterate our vacation notice against all Fulani terrorists hiding under the cloak of herdsmen to leave our land or face its derring consequence if they further wreck evil havoc against our people.
“We have emphatically spoken”.
