JAMB Sets August 31 Deadline for Candidates With Pending Admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed candidates with pending admission offers from the 2020 to 2025 admission cycles to accept or reject the offers on its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) on or before August 31, 2026.

The Board warned that candidates who fail to act before the deadline risk forfeiting their pending admission offers.

JAMB, in a notice shared on its official X platform, urged affected candidates to check their admission status and take the necessary action without delay.

“JAMB has warned candidates with pending previous admission offers to accept/reject them before August 31, 2026, to avoid possible forfeiture,” the Board stated.

Candidates who have outstanding offers are expected to log into their JAMB profiles and access CAPS, where they can view admission offers made by institutions and indicate whether they wish to accept or reject them.

Those interested in an offer are required to accept it on the platform, while candidates who do not wish to proceed with an admission should formally reject it.

JAMB’s CAPS is the official platform through which candidates monitor admission offers and respond to decisions made by tertiary institutions.

The Board particularly urged candidates from the 2020–2025 admission cycles who may have left previous offers unresolved to take immediate action before the August 31 deadline.

JAMB advised affected candidates not to wait until the final day, stressing that failure to respond within the stipulated period could lead to the loss of the admission opportunity.
