JUSUN Congratulates Babangida at 85, Hails His Contributions to Nigeria’s Unity

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Niger State Council, has congratulated former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, on the occasion of his 85th birthday anniversary.

 

In a congratulatory message signed by the State Chairman of JUSUN, Barrister Mahmud Al-Ameen Muye, and made available to journalists in Minna at the weekend, the union described Babangida as an elder statesman whose leadership and contributions have left a significant mark on Nigeria’s history.

 

Muye described the former military leader as an illustrious son of Niger State who played a significant role in the development of the country and remained committed to the ideals of a united Nigeria during his time as Head of State.

 

According to him, Babangida’s years of service to the nation placed an enduring mark on Nigeria’s political and developmental history, distinguishing him among his contemporaries.

 

The JUSUN chairman also acknowledged the former military president’s contributions through various projects and programmes, noting that many of them had direct and positive impacts on Nigerians.

 

He further underscored Babangida’s role in promoting national peace, unity and stability, stressing that his commitment to the continued stability and development of Nigeria could not be overemphasised.

 

Muye prayed for God to grant General Babangida continued good health, wisdom and strength to sustain his fatherly role in the nation and humanity.

 

He wished the former military president a memorable 85th birthday and many more years of fruitful service and good health.

 

General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, who served as Nigeria’s Military President from 1985 to 1993, will clock 85 on Monday, August 17, 2026.
