MISAPPROPRIATION : Gov Sani-Bello Inaugurates Investigative Panel

A five man investigative panel has been inaugurated by the Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello on Wednesday to look into the alleged misappropriation of public funds and unruly conduct of Mashegu Local Government Council, Alhaji Saidu Kaboji.

The local government boss was suspended from office following a resolution of the State House of Assembly last year over an alleged misappropriation of funds.

Governor Sani-Bello called on the members of the committee to ensure a thorough job and should come up with unbiased reports.

He said though the task seems challenging, he expressed confidence in the caliber of the members of the commission that they will come up with true and valid results and recommendations.

The Governor assurred all those involved in the matter of fairness and promised that the state government will on its own part implement the recommendations made after the enquiry.

Meanwhile The commission of enquiry is to be headed by Barr. Baba Musa Abdul has been appointed as the Chairman of the panel of enquiry while Mr. Yuhanna Bako would serve as the Secretary.
Other members of the enquiry commission are Mr. John Sani, Hajiya Rakiya Mohammed and Alh. Hassan Kolos.
The panel has two weeks to carryout the enquiry .

It will be recalled that the Niger State House of Assembly passed a resolution last November, suspended the Chairman and Councillors of Mashegu Local Government over alleged unruly conduct.
