The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has congratulated Barrister Hasan Fajimite on his election as President of the Muslim Lawyers Association (MULAN), describing him as a hardworking, humble and principled legal practitioner whose leadership comes at a critical time for the association.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, MURIC’s Executive Director, Ishaq Akintola, said Fajimite’s emergence was well deserved, expressing confidence in his ability to provide purposeful leadership for the association.
According to Akintola, MULAN could not have chosen a better leader at this crucial period, noting that Fajimite’s commitment to justice and service has earned him widespread respect within the Muslim community.
He described the new MULAN president as “a legal luminary of immense standing” whose selflessness and spirit of sacrifice have been evident, particularly in matters relating to the protection of the rights and interests of Muslims.
Akintola further praised Fajimite for his role in legal advocacy, especially in South-West Nigeria, where he has participated in several legal battles affecting the Muslim community.
“He is hardworking, humble and an embodiment of integrity. He has been at the forefront of legal battles fought by Muslims in South-West Nigeria. In MURIC, we call him the SAN of the Ummah,” the statement read.
MURIC wished Fajimite a successful tenure and expressed optimism that his leadership would strengthen the association and advance the cause of justice and fairness within the legal profession.
