NCS disclaims fake CBT Recruitment shortlist circulating online

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has discredited a fake press release currently circulating across social media and messaging platforms, which falsely claims the Service has released a shortlist for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) scheduled for July 2025 as part of its recruitment process.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the NCS categorically stated that the alleged shortlist and accompanying test schedule are fictitious and did not originate from the agency. The Service warned the public to disregard such misleading information and urged citizens to rely solely on official communication channels for credible updates.

“This false information is intended to deceive unsuspecting applicants and potentially extort them,” the statement read in part. “The Nigeria Customs Service has not announced any CBT or recruitment shortlist at this time. All official updates are published through our verified website and social media handles.”

The NCS emphasized its commitment to transparency and accountability in all recruitment activities, assuring Nigerians that due process will be followed in any future recruitment exercise.

The public is advised to remain vigilant and report suspicious messages or websites claiming to represent the NCS to law enforcement authorities.
