NIGER STATE @45: Unity, Peace, Security, vital components for development – SSG

As Niger State marked its 45th Anniversary, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane has appealed to the people of the state to rededicate themselves to the developmental ideals for the creation of the State for sustainable human development and virile economy.
According to the SSG in his message to mark the occasion, “the enduring significance of the anniversary will find its true meaning if it is used as a platform for deep reflection, a period of soul-searching on how far we have come as a State, what we have been able to achieve and how to chart a new course for a better Niger State and Nigeria in general.
Ahmed Matane stressed that the administration of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has seen the anniversary as a veritable avenue to improve the fortunes of the citizens and make them have abiding faith in the State.
He observed that unity, peace, and security remained vital ingredients for the progress and development of any nation, hence the need for people to live peacefully with another so as to enjoy more dividends of democracy in the years ahead.
Ahmed Matane stated that despite the security challenges that were bedeviling some part of the State, “We have achieved a lot in Niger State in the last 45 years of its creation, development has spread to all parts of the State and this is giving all parts of the State a sense of belonging.”
The SSG further stressed that the present administration under the banner of All Progressives Congress (APC) will continue to bring dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people irrespective of tribal, religious, or socio-political affiliations.
“Governance is a human enterprise that makes sense only if it is focused on the betterment of the populace which Governor Abubakar Sani Bello is unarguably making history in several dimensions.
“The strength of Niger State at 45 years is our unity and so I am using this occasion of our anniversary to call on the people of the State to continue to live in peace with one another. We can achieve so many things in the state when we remain united. We cannot afford to fail our founding fathers. We should maintain the existing ethnic harmony in the state as this is the only way to attract more investors and development to the state”, the SSG noted.
He also disclosed that the present administration led by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello since its inception in 2015 has amplified the socio-economic development of the state as typified by the infrastructures, agriculture, education, health, security, youth, and women empowerment among several others.
Ahmed Matane enjoined Nigerlites not to forget the heroic deeds of our past leaders, for, without them, our story will be incomplete. He tasked the people of the state to march into the future in unity with the hope of a brighter and prosperous future.
