The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the immediate disengagement of Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services), the operator of Nigeria’s Visa Application and Submission Centers in the United States, from the collection and submission of visa applications on behalf of Nigerian diplomatic missions.
The announcement, made in a statement on Thursday by the Service Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, said the decision takes immediate effect and affects all prospective travelers as well as Nigerians residing in the United States who require visas to enter Nigeria.
According to the NIS, all visa applicants are now required to submit their applications directly at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or at the country’s Consulates in New York and Atlanta until further notice.
The Service assured applicants that the Nigerian Embassy and the two Consulates have put adequate measures in place to ensure the seamless submission, processing, and issuance of visas despite the suspension of the third-party application centres.
It further advised applicants to closely monitor the official communication channels of the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigerian Mission in the United States for updates on visa application procedures and any subsequent changes.
The NIS expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of affected applicants, reaffirmed its commitment to delivering efficient and reliable immigration services.
