The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, has reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to enhanced inter-agency collaboration in safeguarding national security, as she received the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on a courtesy visit to the Service Headquarters in Abuja.
The IGP, who was accompanied by senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force, engaged the NIS leadership in high-level discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in key operational areas, including border management, intelligence sharing, capacity building, and coordinated responses to transnational crimes.
Both agencies emphasized the critical importance of synergy in addressing evolving security threats, noting that closer collaboration remains vital to protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity and reinforcing the nation’s internal security architecture.
In her remarks, the Comptroller-General expressed appreciation for the visit, described it as timely and strategic. She reiterated the NIS’s resolve to deepen partnerships with the Police and other security agencies to ensure more effective law enforcement, improved migration governance, and sustained national stability.
The meeting underscored ongoing efforts by Nigeria’s security institutions to build stronger alliances and adopt unified approaches in tackling complex security challenges across the country.
