PCRC Donates 250 Litres of Petrol as CP FCT Inaugurates Violent Crime Response Unit

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, on Wednesday, 23rd April 2026, received the National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, during a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters, Garki II, Abuja.

The meeting, which had in attendance PCRC members from the national, zonal and state chapters, focused on strengthening collaboration between the police and the community in enhancing security across the FCT.

During the visit, the PCRC National Chairman commended the Commissioner of Police for establishing the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) in line with directives of the Inspector-General of Police. He described the initiative as a strategic step that would improve rapid response to emergencies, boost operational efficiency, and deepen public confidence in policing.

In a show of support, the PCRC donated 250 litres of petrol to facilitate the take-off of the newly established unit, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force in building a safer society.

In his response, CP Sanusi expressed appreciation to the PCRC for its continued partnership and support, assuring that the new unit would operate professionally and in strict adherence to the directives of the Inspector-General of Police.

He reiterated the Command’s commitment to sustaining the fight against crime and urged residents of the FCT to support security efforts by reporting suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through emergency lines: 08032003193 and 08061581938.

The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its resolve to strengthen community policing and enhance public safety across the territory.
