The Ministry of Interior has held a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Sensitization Workshop aimed at deepening institutional capacity, strengthening strategic partnerships, and improving service delivery across its operations.
The workshop, which brought together directors, technical officers, and key stakeholders, focused on enhancing understanding of PPP frameworks, identifying collaboration opportunities with the private sector, and aligning with national development priorities.
In her welcome address, the Deputy Director, Special Duties, Mrs. Adogeri Beloved, said the initiative reflected the Ministry’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and improved service delivery. She noted that the programme was designed to expose staff to modern financing and operational models capable of bridging infrastructure gaps and enhancing performance.
Mrs. Beloved stressed that effective adoption of PPP strategies would enable the Ministry to leverage private sector expertise, improve efficiency, and promote sustainable development across its mandates.
Speaking on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Director of Human Resources Management, Mrs. Catherine Zozi, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to institutional reforms and capacity building. She said PPPs remain critical to delivering value for money, enhancing transparency, and fostering innovation in public service delivery.
She added that equipping officers with the skills to design, manage, and monitor PPP projects is essential for achieving long-term impact and aligning with global best practices.
In his goodwill message, the Director-General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), Dr. Johnson Ewalefoh, commended the Ministry for embracing PPP frameworks. He described strong government-private sector collaboration as key to addressing infrastructure deficits and unlocking economic growth potential.
Dr. Ewalefoh assured the Ministry of the ICRC’s continued support in providing regulatory guidance, technical expertise, and oversight to ensure PPP initiatives deliver maximum public value while maintaining accountability and transparency.
The workshop featured technical sessions, expert presentations, and interactive discussions on PPP implementation, project structuring, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Participants were urged to apply the knowledge gained in developing viable and bankable projects aligned with the Ministry’s strategic goals.
The Ministry of Interior reiterated its commitment to reforms that enhance institutional capacity, foster strategic partnerships, and promote efficient, transparent, and citizen-centred service delivery through innovative models such as Public-Private Partnerships.
