The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) has dismissed as false and misleading reports alleging the removal of the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, as chairman of the forum.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Director-General of the forum, Folorunso S. Aluko, described the report circulating on some media platforms as baseless, misleading, and completely devoid of truth, insisting that no decision was taken against the PGF chairman.
Aluko stated that no meeting of the forum was held where such a resolution was considered or adopted, adding that the PGF Secretariat had no record or knowledge of any move to remove Governor Uzodimma from office.
According to the statement, Governor Uzodimma remained the duly recognized chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
The forum further stated that its members remain united, focused, and committed to their responsibilities, urging party faithful, stakeholders, and members of the public to disregard the report in its entirety.
