Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire to be conferred with OFR

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the conferement of national honor, Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic OFR on the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals SDGs, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.

 

Princess Adejoke was among numerous Nigerians honored by the federal government to mark this year’s 2022 Nigeria’s 62nd independence anniversary held on Saturday, Ist October, 2022.

 

Adefulire, a former Deputy Governor of Lagos state was appointed as pioneer SSA-SDGs to Nigeria’s President in 2016, after the transition from MDGs to SDGs in 2015.

 

She had introduced series of reforms towards the realization of SDGs through its domestication in Nigeria with the support of UNDP, PSAG, CSO’s, and state governments among many other stakeholders.

 

The SSA- SDGs is championing the decade of action program of SDGs 2020-2030 geared towards resolving the gap of underdevelopment, poverty and social disequilibrium.

 

Six years down the line , the success story of Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire is adored everywhere, including the recent launch of Nigeria’s Integrated National Financing Framework INFF in New York, United States in the just concluded 77th UNGA session by President Muhammadu Buhari.

 

SDGs in Nigeria had intervened with invention of (SDGs model), realigned it’s National Statistical System NSS in collaboration with NBS, assisted 16 states with Conditional Grant Scheme through provision of socio-economic activities in the state, along with the recent launch of independent evaluation reports on SDGs 3,4 , on Health and wellbeing as well as quality Education, the first in recent time.
