Tajudeen Abass’s ambition receives boost,as Betara and Gadgi withdraw from Speakership race

Yusuf Gagdi and Aliyu Betara, the members representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam federal constituency of Plateau State and Biu/Bayo/Shani/ Kwaya Kusar Federal Constituency of Borno State have withdrawn from the 10th assembly speakership race.
The two lawmakers made the development known on Sunday evening, June 11, 2023, after a meeting with the Vice President, Kashim Shettima.
They withdraw from the race to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) anointed candidate Tajudeen Abass.
Recall in May, 2023, Alhassan Doguwa, majority leader of the house of representatives, Abubakar Maki and Olatunji Olawuyi also withdrew from the race to support Abass.
The APC officially zoned the Senate President to the South-South (Akpabio) Deputy Senate President to the North-West, Barau Jibrin. The party also zoned the Speaker position to the North-West (Abass), and Deputy Speaker to the South-East (Kalu).
