The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Kano Region has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) to improve the stability, reliability and efficiency of Nigeria’s electricity grid.
The commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the Managing Director of NISO, Engr. Abdu Muhammed Bello, to the TCN Kano Regional Office.
Speaking during the visit, the General Manager (Transmission), TCN Kano Region, Engr. M. K. Bello, expressed appreciation to the NISO Managing Director for the cordial relationship between the two organisations and commended NISO’s consistent support in ensuring seamless system operations.
According to him, NISO has always responded promptly whenever TCN required operational assistance, reflecting the strong partnership between both organisations.
Engr. Bello assured the NISO management of TCN Kano Region’s continued support and commitment to sustaining the existing collaboration to ensure the successful implementation of Nigeria’s electricity market reform objectives.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of NISO, Engr. Abdu Muhammed Bello, thanked the TCN Kano Region management for the formal handover of the former TCN Regional Office to NISO, describing the gesture as a major milestone in the relationship between the two organisations.
He reaffirmed NISO’s commitment to maintaining close collaboration with TCN in the collective effort to guarantee a stable, reliable and efficient national electricity grid.
The NISO boss stressed that effective coordination between system operations and transmission infrastructure remains critical to ensuring grid security and stability, adding that sustained cooperation between both organisations would further enhance power system operations and improve electricity service delivery across the country.
The visit underscored the shared resolve of TCN and NISO to deepen institutional collaboration in support of a more resilient and efficient electricity sector in Nigeria.
