We ‘II Galvanise Informal Sector; NPC says ….. Doles out Computers to Lagos Community

The National Productivity Centre, NPC said the Informal sector will be revitalized with a view to competing favourably with other sectors, so as to stimulate the economy of the country.

 

The Director General of the centre, Dr Nasir Olaitan Raji-Mustapha made this disclosure during the distribution of computers to Akangba Community in Lagos state on Saturday.

 

He said for a productive society, the informal sector desired a leading role, so as to bridge the gap of activities between the formal sector.

 

Dr Raji told the beneficiaries to utilize the equipment distributed for the the purpose intended, stating that a productive society is the bane of a virile nation.

 

He urged them not to channel their energies into needless ventures with the new technology equipment, stating that the new order, information and communication technology ICT is the driver of the world economies.

 

He congratulated the recipients for passing through the rigourous conditions deployed by the community, while commending the community leader for a job well done.

 

The Director General maintained that the centre has the capacity to deploy gadgets that will create an enabling environment geared towards monitoring the progress and productive stead of the beneficiaries, urging them not to sell the computers donated to them.

 

Dr Raji was represented by Mrs Okwosa of the Lagos office of the National Productivity Centre, NPC.
