Don’t Endanger Your Safety, DG Warns Corps Members

Corps Members have been advised not to indulge in any act that can undermine their safety but rather ensure high level of security consciousness at all times.

The NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim disclosed this in his address to the 2019 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Corps Members at the NYSC FCT Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja.

He urged them not to endanger their safety but abide by the security tips given to them during registration and make judicious use of the telephone numbers.

General Ibrahim warned the Corps Members to avoid lone movements but walk in groups and never hide their movements from their colleagues and NYSC authorities.

The NYSC boss also admonished them to use the social media to promote National unity and refrain from sending hate speeches that can promote ethnic acrimony.

‘Utilise the opportunities of the orientation course to imbibe teamspirit and be ready to serve your fatherland with patriotism. Avoid unauthorized journey and don’t endanger your safety’.

‘You must adhere strictly to NYSC dress code, dress properly and be careful on the use of the social media. Use the social media to promote National unity and integration’, Ibrahim said.

The DG tasked them to execute projects that are beneficial to their host communities but warned against borrowing money to execute projects.

‘Serve are good ambassadors of your schools families and the NYSC. Maintain clean records in your place of primary assignments and respect your dignity,’ the DG added.
