The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Bernard M. Doro, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in addressing poverty and supporting vulnerable Nigerians.
According to a statement issued by Director Information and Public Relations , Janet McDickson Noah, the Minister made the remarks on Friday during a meeting with a delegation from UNOCHA led by Danielle Parry at the conference room of the Honourable Minister in Abuja.
Dr. Doro noted that both the Ministry and UNOCHA share a common goal of helping vulnerable citizens overcome poverty and other humanitarian challenges. He commended the United Nations for its continued partnership and support to Nigeria’s humanitarian efforts.
According to the Minister, his guiding philosophy remains “Make a Difference,” stressing the need for stronger cooperation to improve the lives of vulnerable people across the country.
The meeting, which followed an earlier engagement between both parties, was aimed at deepening mutual understanding ahead of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate a stronger working relationship in humanitarian interventions in Nigeria.
The discussions also focused on areas of collaboration that would enhance effective service delivery and sustainable support for vulnerable communities.
