The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has called on Nigerians to embrace hope, unity, and a shared sense of humanity as Christians across the country celebrate the Easter season.
In a press statement issued by Udora Orizu, his SA Press Affairs on April 4, 2026, Kalu described Easter as a powerful reminder of sacrifice, renewal, and the triumph of hope over despair. He urged citizens to reflect on the enduring values symbolized by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Deputy Speaker encouraged Christians and all Nigerians to continue praying for the nation and the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing optimism that the country will overcome its socio-economic challenges.
Kalu emphasized the need for unity among citizens, urging them to rise above ethnic, religious, and political differences in the collective pursuit of peace and sustainable national development.
“Easter speaks to the resilience of the human spirit and the boundless power of hope. It calls on us to love one another, to stand united, and to uphold our shared humanity, especially in difficult times,” he said.
