Edo State Governor appoints Dr Anthonia Inibokun Njoku as Chief Medical Director of Edo Specialist Hospital

In a significant move to enhance healthcare delivery in Edo State, Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has approved the appointment of Dr. Mrs. Anthonia Inibokun Njoku as the new Chief Medical Director of the Edo Specialist Hospital in Benin City. The appointment takes effect from December 4, 2024, marking a new chapter for the hospital under the leadership of a distinguished medical expert.

 

Dr. Mrs. Njoku, a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology, holds an impressive academic background. She attended the College of Medical Sciences, University of Maiduguri, and furthered her studies at renowned institutions such as the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she earned qualifications in reproductive health, bioethics, and clinical research.

Dr. Njoku is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons. She has also served as the Past Secretary of the Nigerian Medical Association and is an active member of various prestigious medical organizations in Nigeria.

 

Before her appointment, Dr. Njoku was a Senior Lecturer at the College of Medical Sciences, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, and an Honorary Consultant at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, where she contributed significantly to medical training and patient care.

 

Governor Okpebholo’s appointment of Dr. Njoku is expected to bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the Edo Specialist Hospital, with the goal of improving healthcare services in the state.
