The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has assured the National Youth Service Corps of its continous support to the Scheme.
The Honourable Minister for the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Mohammed Musa Bello gave the assurance while declaring open the 2023 Batch “A” Pre-Mobilization Workshop held in Abuja
The Minister who was represented by the Director, Human Resource Management of the FCTA, Alhaji Muhammad Bashir said the importance of the NYSC in nation building cannot be over-emphasized, hence, the need to constantly support the Scheme
The FCT Minister called on all Stakeholders to keep supporting the Scheme in all areas of needs as the Scheme keeps evolving and strategizing to serve the nation better.
Speaking in the same vein, the Chairman, NYSC National Governing Board, Ambassador Fatima Balla Abubakar, represented by Hajia Binta Muazu thanked all stakeholders for their continued support to the Scheme and commended all Corps Producing lnstitutions for not compromising the credibility of the data of their Prospective Corps Members uploaded on the NYSC portal.
Ambassador Balla noted that though there were challenges, the NYSC will continue to evolve and restrategize to tackle emerging issues.
In her welcome address, the Acting Director General of NYSC, Mrs Christy Uba said the workshop is critical as it was an opportunity to interface with students Affairs Officers (SAO’s) and other key players on emerging issues in the mobilization process
Mrs Uba called on them to be transparent and committed as well as avoid corrupt practices capable of jeopardizing their institutions’ efforts on mobilization.
She thanked the joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), National Universities Commission, Sidmach technologied and all collaborating partners for their contributions to the Scheme.
Earlier, in her welcome remarks, the Director, Corps Mobilization, Hajia Walida Siddique Isa, admonished the SAOs not to compromise the integrity of data uploaded on NYSC Integrated System.
She also called on the participants to utilize the interactive session and ask questions bordering on Corps Mobilization.
