GOV SANI BELLO SWEARS-IN NEW GURARA LG CHAIRMAN, Condoles Sarkin Bello family

Niger state Governor, Alh Abubakar Sani Bello on Wednesday sworn in Hon. Bako Zamwawosayi as the new Chairman Gurara Local Government area of the state.

The solemn ceremony was conducted by Justice Maimuna Abubakar of the High Court at the Council Chamber of the Government House, Minna.

The change in leadership of council came on the heels of the demise of the former council Chairman, Hon. Jibrin Musa Bakon Dare who died on Monday after a brief illness.

The Governor charged the new Council Chairman to ensure that he focus on peace and security in the area as the council has faced some security challenges in the past.

Governor Sani-Bello also called on the new council boss to ensure that he carry his people along in the discharge of his duties and also assured him of his support and prayers.

The Niger State Governor, Alihaji Abubakar Sani-Bello also on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to the family of the District Head of Nikuchi, Alh. Mohammed Sarki Bello who died after a brief illness.

“Late Mohammed Sarki Bello was a gentleman to the core. His death was a great loss to the entire people of Minna Emirate”. He said.

He prayed Allah to give his family and the people of Paiko and Minna Emirate the strength to bear the loss.

Late Mohammed Sarki Bello was the eldest son of Late Sarki Mohammed Bello and the immediate elder of Late U.K Bello.

He died on Monday at the age of 71 and he survived by his wife, 15 children and 2 grandchildren.

In another development, the committee set up to by Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello to look into the alleged misappropriation of public funds and unruly conduct of Mashegu Local Government Chairman Alhaji Saidu Kaboji has submitted its report.

Governor Sani-Bello has however admonished the State House of Assembly to find better ways to resolve disputes between the legislative arm and any other arm of the executive to allow for smooth running of government and to save resources.

Earlier, the Chairman of the committee, Justice Musa Baba Abdul said that based on the memo received by the committee from the Niger State House of Assembly and the recommendations of the committee, the Chairman of Mashegu Local Government Council, Alh. Saidu Kaboji who has been under suspension was recommended to be recalled back to office to carry out his duties.
