Group alleges plots to undermine NSCDC Operations

A Yoruba Apex Youth organization, Igbimo Odo Yoruba Afenifere, has raised alarm over an orchestrated plot to undermine the country’s security agencies with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps and its leadership being subject of attacks. This, the group said, is part of the plot by some desperate politicians, who are hell-bent on destabilizing the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in addressing the nation’s security challenges.

The group described the plots as deliberate smear campaign by these mischief makers who are hellbent to tarnish the hard earned reputation of the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Dr Abubakar Audi.

In a statement signed by its Secretary General, Olalekan Ajasin, the Apex Yoruba Youth Organization, said the recent campaign of publications and planned protest against the management of the NSCDC in a section of the media were intended to ridicule the corps.

He further said these mischief makers and agent provocateurs donning the garb of public officers hide under the umbrella and cloak of anti-corruption war to persecute their preserved enemies with contrary views.

The group urged Nigerians to disregard the innuendos orchestrated by fifth columnists, salute the gallantry, patriotism, new sense of direction and the determination to ride the country of vandalism and criminal elements and therefore passed a vote of confidence on the hierarchy of the corp, led by the Commandant General, Abubakar Audi.

The Pan Yoruba Youth Movement, said “Nigerians are wiser now and would resist attempt by anyone, to jeopardize current efforts by the NSCDC in the fight against insecurity in Nigeria”.

It also urged the individuals behind such plot to allow the CG and his team at the NSCDC concentrate in meeting their mandate of tackling the security challenges confronting the country.
