The Inspector General of Police IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu has reiterated his commitment to strengthening capacity development and improving officer welfare within the Nigeria Police Force, as he presided over the closing ceremony of the Squadron Commanders’ Training Programme at the Police Mobile Force (PMF) Training College in Ende-Hills, Nasarawa State.
The event, held on April 22, 2026, form part of ongoing efforts by the Force leadership to enhance operational effectiveness and leadership competence across its tactical units.
During the visit, the IGP conducted an inspection of key training facilities, including the simulation ground and shooting range, where he actively participated in tactical exercises. His involvement underscored the importance of practical, scenario-based training in addressing modern security challenges.
Addressing cadets of the Nigeria Police Academy currently undergoing training at the college, Disu charged them to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to their professional development. He stressed that resilience, adherence to human rights principles, and dedication to duty are essential attributes for effective policing.
At the closing ceremony, the IGP commended the Squadron Commanders for successfully completing the rigorous training programme. He urged them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to enhance leadership standards, operational discipline, and tactical efficiency in their respective commands.
Reaffirming his vision for the Police Mobile Force, Disu emphasized the need for the unit to remain a highly disciplined, responsive, and dependable tactical arm of the Force.
He also assured officers of continued efforts to improve welfare and provide adequate equipment to enable formations effectively tackle evolving security threats across the country.
