The Islamic Youths Development Association (IYDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment and Islamic values during its Annual General Meeting held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the residence of Brother Abdulazeez Fagbohun in Owode Yewa, Ogun State.
The meeting was well-attended by key members and executives of the association, including:

During the deliberations, Olayode Abdurasaq Oluwole was unanimously re-elected as President of IYDA, a position he has held since the inception of the association. Abdul-Salam Muh. Qazeem Karufy was also reappointed as the association’s missionary, while other executive members retained their respective roles, reflecting the members’ confidence in the current leadership.
Highlights of the meeting included a comprehensive review of the recently concluded Pre-Ramadan Lecture Series and the inauguration of committees for upcoming activities. A major announcement was the formation of a 30th Anniversary Planning Committee, which will coordinate activities to mark three decades of IYDA’s impactful service to the community.
President Olayode, in his remarks, appreciated the continued support of members and reaffirmed the association’s focus on promoting Islamic knowledge, moral discipline, and youth development.
Despite the decline of several similar organizations in and around Owode Yewa, IYDA has remained resilient. Its legacy included signature programs such as Pre-Ramadan Lectures, Eid Fitri get-togethers, and the “Catch Them Young” initiative in collaboration with MSSN, aimed at mentoring younger Muslims.
The AGM concluded on a hopeful note, with members pledging renewed dedication to the association’s mission and a shared commitment to building a brighter future for Muslim youth.
