The Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff and Students of the Institution has commiserated with the family of Prof. Taibat Danmole, who passed on at the age of 71 years.
The late Danmole, a professor of Education was confirmed dead on Saturday, 8th January, 2022 after a brief illness.
According to the Vice Chancellor, death is inevitable, the family, friends, associates and the entire university should take solace in the fact that only God gives and takes.
She believed that the amiable don had played her part and done her best while she was at the university of excellence.
She noted that late Prof. Danmole retired from LASU, last year and looking forward to a deserved rest, but, bowed to the wish of almighty God.
She prayed that God in his infinite mercy will give her husband, also a university don, the children and the entire family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. She added that she would be sorely missed by all, for her academic and motherly role.
Late Prof. Danmole was the eldest child of the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba JImoh Oyewumi. Her death came barely 28 days after the demise of the king, who joined his ancestors on December 12, 2021 after a brief illness at the age of 95 years.
Prof. Taibat Danmole was a devout Muslim. The LASU Faculty of Education and the Muslim community hosted her to a retirement party when she retired alongside others.
The late Varsity Don married to another university don, Prof. Hakeem Danmole, who is the Dean College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin.
She was Commissioner for Education in Oyo State from 1997-1998.
She was also a member of Visitation Panel to The Polytechnic, Ibadan in 2011.
Prof Taibat Danmole was buried yesterday, Sunday, 9th January, 2022 according to Islamic rites.
