The Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, and the Mushin Local Government Area have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration in youth empowerment, vocational training and community development.
This was the focus of a courtesy visit by the Commandant of NAFRC, Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ilo, to the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Tunbosun Haruna Aruwe.
During the visit, Air Vice Marshal Ilo highlighted the Centre’s mandate and expressed appreciation for the longstanding cordial relationship between NAFRC and the Mushin Local Government Council. He reaffirmed the Centre’s readiness to sustain collaboration in areas of mutual interest while urging the council to encourage more young people to enrol in NAFRC’s vocational training programmes.
The Commandant disclosed that the Centre is reviewing its training curriculum and upgrading its technological facilities to provide trainees with modern skills that will enhance self-reliance and contribute to national development in line with global best practices.
He reiterated NAFRC’s commitment to youth empowerment and community service, while expressing appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff and the Service Chiefs for their continued support to the Centre.
In his response, the Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Aruwe, commended the enduring partnership between the council and NAFRC, describing it as beneficial to the development of the local community.
He acknowledged the Centre’s significant contributions through medical outreach programmes, security support, driver training initiatives and the donation of healthcare facilities to the local government.
The council chairman expressed gratitude for NAFRC’s sustained support over the years and wished Air Vice Marshal Ilo a successful and impactful tenure as the 42nd Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre.
He also expressed confidence that the strong relationship between both institutions would continue to flourish, delivering greater socio-economic benefits to residents of Mushin and surrounding communities.
