The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has issued a stern warning to the general public, especially foreign investors and international business organizations, about the activities of fraudsters impersonating company officials to defraud unsuspecting individuals.
In a public notice signed by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, NNPC Ltd. disclosed that these impostors have been soliciting payments from individuals and companies under the guise of facilitating meetings with members of the NNPC Board, executives, and management staff.
The company categorically described such activities as unauthorised and illegal, urged the public to report any suspicious approaches to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
“All legitimate engagements with NNPC Limited occur strictly through official channels or recognised business units,” the notice emphasized.
NNPC Ltd. reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to transparency, integrity, and the protection of its stakeholders in all interactions. The company also encouraged the public to remain vigilant and share the alert to prevent further scams.
