Presidential Primary: Benue North East APC Rallies Massive Support for Tinubu — Senator Udende

The Senator representing Benue North East Senatorial District, Emmanuel Memga Udende, led members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the district in casting massive votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the party’s presidential primary election.

Addressing supporters at the Ukum Local Government Headquarters in Sankera, Senator Udende, who chairs the Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes, praised President Tinubu’s administration for what he described as significant achievements in Benue State and across Nigeria.

He highlighted ongoing infrastructure development, improvements in the economy, and the appointment of Benue indigenes into key positions in the current administration.

“For the first time in the history of Benue State, we have our own Senator George Akume serving as Secretary to the Government of the Federation. We also have a Grade A minister from Benue, as well as the Chairman of the North Central Development Commission and several other federal appointments. We must collectively give President Tinubu another opportunity to continue his good policies,” Udende stated.

The lawmaker, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the immediate past APC National Assembly primaries, alleging that some individuals manufactured results in guest houses and private residences instead of the designated council ward headquarters.

According to him, such actions were unacceptable, insisting that some of the disputed results “will never stand.”

Udende, popularly known as “Ikuen I Ukum,” also appreciated the people of Ukum and the entire Benue North East Senatorial District for turning out in large numbers to support President Tinubu, assuring them that their trust and support for the APC would not be in vain.

Also speaking, the member representing Ukum State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Ezra Nyiyongo, urged party faithful to remain steadfast in supporting APC leaders and President Tinubu ahead of the forthcoming presidential and National Assembly general elections.

While Senator Udende voted at his Tsaav Council Ward headquarters in Afia, Hon. Nyiyongo participated in the exercise at Melabu in Mbayenge Council Ward.
