South West Development Commission holds Inaugural Meeting,set to screen Presidential Nominees

The South West Development Commission has taken a significant step towards realizing its mandate with the holding of its inaugural meeting at the National Assembly. The meeting marked the beginning of a new era of development and growth for the South West Region, as the Commission prepare to screen Presidential nominees for key positions.

 

Chairman Dr. Yunusa Abiodun Akintunde, in his remarks during the meeting, emphasized the importance of cooperation and collaboration among members of the Committee. He noted that the Commission’s success would depend on the collective efforts of its members and stakeholders, and solicited for their support in ensuring that the Committee becomes a space for innovation, inclusion, inspiration, and democratic dividends.

 

The screening of nominees for the positions of Chairman, Managing Director, and members of the board of the South West Development Commission is expected to be a rigorous process, aimed at identifying the most qualified and competent individuals to lead the Commission. The outcome of the screening process will be crucial in determining the future direction of the Commission and its ability to deliver on its mandate.

 

The establishment of the South West Development Commission is a Constitutional requirement aimed at strengthening the community through sustainable development initiatives and knowledge sharing.
