The 62nd edition of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference has kicked off in Lagos with the Registrar General/CEO of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Alhaji Garba Abubakar in attendance.

 

The 2022 NBA AGC themed “ Bold Transitions” has a registered 13,000 delegates in attendance.

 

In a message to the occasion, the outgoing NBA President, Olumide A. Akpata said the conference represented a novel platform for knowledge exchange on the continent as it brought together world leaders, political icons, judges, leading lawyers, thought leaders, policy makers, business icons and civil society.

 

The gathering, he said was to discuss and produce an implementation plan to foster the adoption of policies, standards and practices leading to socio-political stability, economic growth, sustainable and infrastructural development for accelerated regional and economic integration.

 

The event according to the Head ,Media of the commission, Rasheed Mahe is holding at the Eko Atlantic and Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos from 19th to 26th August, 2022 the conference consisted of Plenary sessions/interactive panels entertaining Questions and Answers.

 

Panelists have been drawn from UN agencies; key experts; civil society and State representatives while no less than 116 resource persons are expected to feature at the event.

 

Meanwhile the Registrar General/CEO of CAC, Alhaji Garba Abubakar has visited the Commision’s pavilion at the event as well paid solidarity visit to the incoming NBA President, Y. C Maikyau, SAN.

 

At the CAC Pavilion, the Registrar General accompanied by Duke Ukaga, Director Public Affairs, Abdulkadir Modibbo, Assistant Director/Head Kaduna Office, Francis Amadi, Assistant Director/ Head Ibadan Office and Olumide Ologe, PM Compliance interacted with numerous Customers.

 

Alhaji Garba Abubakar who solicited their continued support to the Commision’s reform initiatives assured of his determination to ensure the CAC operates in line with global best practices.

 

He used the forum to commend the efforts of the CAC Technical team headed by Mohammed Abdullahi, Technical Assistant to the RG working assiduously to respond to customers inquiries as well as resolve challenges.

 

While on his solidarity visit to the NBA President-Elect, Y.C Maikyau, SAN due to be inaugurated on 26th August,2022, Alhaji Garba Abubakar prayed God to grant him wisdom and strength to handle the new assignment.

 

CAC News reports that 20 Staff of the Commision including the Registrar General are attending the 2022 NBA AGC.
