NUJ FCT Celebrates Kingsley Madaki’s Appointment as AMAC Chief Press Secretary

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has congratulated Mr. Kingsley Rufus Madaki on his appointment as Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, described the appointment as well-deserved and a reflection of the confidence reposed in Madaki’s competence, professionalism and dedication to journalism and public communication.

According to the union, the appointment announced by the Office of the AMAC Chairman underscored the growing recognition of journalists as critical partners in governance, public engagement and development communication.

Comrade Ike noted that Madaki’s elevation is a source of pride for the media community in the Federal Capital Territory, adding that it demonstrates the value of hard work, integrity and commitment to professional excellence.

“We are delighted to celebrate one of our own as he takes on this new and important responsibility. This appointment is a testament to hard work, integrity and the values that the NUJ continues to champion among our members,” she stated.

The Council expressed confidence in Madaki’s ability to bring his wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of his new responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to the development of the Abuja Municipal Area Council.

The NUJ FCT Council also urged the new Chief Press Secretary to continue promoting transparency, accountability and effective public communication while serving the council and residents of the Federal Capital Territory.

While wishing him a successful and impactful tenure, the union assured him of its continued support and collaboration in the course of his official duties.
