The Transformative Governance Forum (TGF) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaja Fatimah Oreoluwa Lawal, wife of Osun State APC Chairman, Alhaji Sooko Tajudeen Lawal Eniafe.
In a condolence message issued by its Strategic Communications Directorate, the group described the late Alhaja Fatimah, fondly known as Iya Irorun, as a rare soul whose warmth, generosity, and compassion touched countless lives. She was buried on Saturday in line with Islamic rites.
The forum said her passing was a painful loss not only to her immediate family but also to the wider community, noting that she embodied kindness and hospitality. According to the statement, her home served as a sanctuary where people found comfort, warmth, and support.
TGF further described the deceased as “the heartbeat of a home,” emphasizing that her presence brought ease and joy to all who encountered her, a trait that earned her the affectionate title Iya Irorun, meaning “Mother of Ease.”
Addressing the APC chairman, the group acknowledged the depth of his grief, stating that the loss of a spouse is a profound personal tragedy that transcends public life and political status.
“We stand with you not just as political allies but as family,” the statement read, assuring him of their prayers, solidarity, and unwavering support during the difficult period.
The forum prayed for the repose of the deceased, asking Allah to grant her Aljannah Firdaus, forgive her shortcomings, and reward her good deeds, while also granting strength and comfort to the bereaved family.
The statement concluded with a reminder of the transient nature of life, urging faith and submission to the will of Allah in moments of grief.
