The Directorate of Force Medical Services has received a significant boost following the donation of medical consumables by retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Aminu Yesufu, as part of activities marking his 72nd birthday.
The development was disclosed by the Force Medical PR Liaison Officer, SP Eze Chidiebere K, who noted that the gesture reflected a sustained commitment to supporting healthcare delivery within the Nigeria Police Force.
The celebratory events, held in Abuja, were marked by acts of charity and goodwill. The retired DIG began the festivities with a visit to the School of the Blind, where he donated essential educational materials to support students and enhance their learning experience.
Continuing his philanthropic outreach, Yesufu, alongside family members and friends, on April 30, 2026, visited the Muhammadu Buhari Police Hospital, Area 11, Garki, where he presented a range of medical consumables for distribution across key police medical facilities.
The beneficiary institutions include Police Hospital, Dei Dei; Police Hospital, Area 1; Muhammadu Buhari Police Hospital, Area 11; and the Police National Reference Hospital, Utako.
Items donated comprised mercury-based sphygmomanometers, stethoscopes, antimalarial drugs for both children and adults, antihypertensive medications, as well as other essential medical supplies aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery within the Nigeria Police medical system.
The event attracted several distinguished personalities, including the celebrant’s wife, Mrs. Ame Yesufu, the pioneer Force Medical Director, AIG Dr. Nkechi Eze, and other former Force Medical Officers such as AIG Dr. Grace Okudo (Rtd), AIG Dr. Adenike Abuah (Rtd), AIG Joseph Eribo, AIG Paul Ochonu (Rtd), and Dr. Yusuf Gazali, MD/CEO PHML, among others.
The gathering provided an opportunity for colleagues, associates, and well-wishers to celebrate Yesufu’s legacy of service and reflect on his enduring contributions to policing and healthcare support in Nigeria.
The Directorate of Force Medical Services described the gesture as impactful, reaffirming its commitment to enhancing medical services across police formations.
