The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has called on affluent Nigerians to support educational development, citing the recent donation of a major ICT facility to Fountain University, Osogbo, by its Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Dr. Awa Ibraheem.
In a statement issued on Monday, April 27, 2026, and signed by its Founder and Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, the Islamic human rights organization commended Dr. Ibraheem for donating a newly completed 600-seater Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Hub to the institution.
MURIC described the gesture as a significant contribution to the advancement of digital education, noting that the facility would enhance learning and technological capacity within the university.
The group further lauded Dr. Ibraheem’s longstanding reputation for generosity and selflessness, describing the ICT hub project as a landmark intervention in the institution’s infrastructure development.
It urged other wealthy Nigerians to follow suit by investing in education and contributing to societal growth, particularly through support for schools and universities.
MURIC also advised the Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Professor Ramota Olayinka Karim, and administrators of other higher institutions to strengthen collaboration between academia and the wider community as a strategy to attract private funding.
The organization emphasized that sustained partnerships between institutions and philanthropists remain critical to improving educational standards and infrastructure across the country.
