The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Thursday, April 16, 2026, hosted the Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Ayo Omotayo, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja to explore avenues for enhanced institutional collaboration.
Omotayo was accompanied by retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Leye Oyebade, and policy expert Garba Malumfashi.
Discussions at the meeting centered on strengthening partnerships between the Nigeria Police Force and NIPSS, particularly in key areas such as national security, strategic leadership, capacity development, and policy support.
Speaking during the visit, Omotayo highlighted the pivotal role of NIPSS as Nigeria’s foremost policy think tank operating under the supervision of the Presidency. He described the institute as the apex platform for strategic research, reflection, and dialogue, designed to engage top-level leaders and technocrats in shaping national policies and governance.
In his response, IGP Disu expressed appreciation for the visit and underscored the importance of synergy between law enforcement agencies and policy institutions in advancing national security objectives. He reiterated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to intelligence-led policing, sustained capacity building, and ongoing reforms aimed at improving professionalism and service delivery.
The police chief further assured his guests of the Force’s readiness to partner with NIPSS in advancing research, policy formulation, and leadership development initiatives to strengthen internal security and governance across the country.
The meeting reflected ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to foster strategic partnerships in pursuit of a safer and more secure nation.
