President of the Senate, Senator (Dr) Godswill Akpabio, has felicitated with his beloved wife, Dr (Mrs) Ekaette Unoma Godswill Akpabio, on the occasion of her birthday, described her as a jewel whose life is defined by compassion, humility, and service to humanity.
In a heartfelt tribute on Monday, the Senate President extolled the virtues of the former First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, noted her lifelong dedication to the welfare of women, children, and the less privileged in society.
Akpabio wrote “Your life is replete with positive impact on humanity,“Your love for fellow women, children and the less privileged in our society will continue to be celebrated.”
He recalled her significant role during his tenure as Governor of Akwa Ibom State between 2007 and 2015, noted that she brought joy and relief to many lives through her signature initiative the Family Life Enhancement Initiative (FLEI).
“You made my tenure as Governor of Akwa Ibom State exceptional when as the First Lady you initiated numerous programmes through FLEI which changed frowns to smiles on the faces of thousands of Akwa Ibom people,” he said.
Akpabio further praised his wife for continuing her humanitarian efforts even after leaving office, through medical outreaches, empowerment initiatives, and the building of homes for widows and other vulnerable persons.
“Our family is blessed to have a God-fearing wife and mother like you,” he added, expressing gratitude on behalf of himself, their children, and the people of Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District.
He concluded the message with prayers for many more years of life, service, and devotion, especially to God and The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, whom she deeply reveres.
“Be assured of my love forever,” the Senate President affirmed.
